TAMSIN LILLIE – President

“I’m Tamsin and I’m a 4th year Medic at UEA. I first read about Medic to Medic in the Student BMJ (this doesn’t mean that I actually read it lots!!!) and was immediately drawn to the charity. I was struck by what a simple idea it was and how much it could make a difference. I’ve become very passionate about the cause and I’m trying my best to coordinate fundraisers and social events at UEA to spread the word about the charity and how people can get involved. Once I’ve qualified I’d really like to spend time with a charity working in International Health and make a difference!”
CHARLOTTE GROOM – Secretary

“I’m Charlotte and I’m 27 and from east sussex and study medicine at UEA. I love to travel and have spent a lot of time in East and South Africa. Medic-to-Medic is close to my heart as i have seen firsthand the situation that Africa is in, in respect to healthcare, housing and basic needs.”
MARYANNE MARIYASELVAM – Treasurer

“My name’s Maryanne Mariyaselvam and I’m the Treasurer for Medic2Medic at UEA. I’m currently in my 4th year of Medicine, and very interested in pursuing a career in surgery. Once I joined the society, I realised how privileged I am to be able to go through medical school, and only worry about passing exams. I would be devastated if I were unable to finish medical school due to financial hardship; so this charity which gives students the opportunity to qualify and fulfil their dream is one that I am whole heartedly behind.”
TOM HUTCHINSON – Clinical Liaison

Hi I’m Tom and presently the Clinical Liaison Officer for the UEA branch. I believe Medic to Medic to be rather exceptional in that such a small financial contribution can make such an appreciable difference for Malawian medical students which will undoubtedly lead to a strengthening of an increasingly troubled healthcare infrastructure. My main career aspirations are focused currently on Cardiology and I’d be humbled to have an opportunity to share my knowledge and experience with these young people whilst gaining an appreciation of medical education in the developing world.”
ARABELLA STUART – Project Leader

“My name is Arabella Stuart and I am a 3rd year medical student at UEA. My passion is Tropical Medicine and healthcare in the developing world, and I hope to specialise in these when I qualify!”
